Lectio Divina
Lectio Divina is a traditional monastic practice of scriptural reading, meditation and prayer intended to promote communion with God and to increase the knowledge of God's word. It does not treat Scripture as texts to be studied, but as the living word, relevant to our lives and in living out our faith.
We meet for about an hour and a quarter, to read a short passage of scripture. Then we sit in quiet to allow God to give each one of us his word. We receive, pray and rest in a guided time of silence. There is an opportunity to share our experience, if we wish to, at the end.
If you would like to explore this direct, simple and rewarding way of reading the bible, do come along and try it out on any of the dates which will be advertised. We begin on Monday 11th September at 11am.
