Messy church is a fun and informal way for families to enjoy church.
Split into two groups: Messy Toddler for pre-school children aged under 5 and Messy Church aimed at children from 0-11 years.
Messy Toddlers is run once a month on a Friday morning, term time only, from 10-11:30am. It is a fun and informal way for pre-school children to enjoy being in church in a relaxed, informal (and Messy!) way. We begin with refreshments followed by a short bible-themed story aimed specifically at this age group. We then have about 45 minutes of crafts and fun all over the church. These range from glueing and painting, making sandwiches, playing with sand and play dough to decorating cakes and making bunting. We end with songs and a prayer.
Messy Church is a larger event run in the school holidays or weekends at key times in the church year, for example, Good Friday and a Saturday in December for Christmas Messy Church. These are aimed at children of all ages and make use of the church, Octagon and library. There are loads of crafts and a short, very informal, service.
