Holy Week and Easter Services
Join us as we journey through the events leading up to the death of Jesus and celebrate his resurrection on Easter Day.
Palm Sunday 25 March 2018
8am Holy Communion (BCP) a quieter said service in the traditional language of the Book of Common Prayer.
9.30am Holy Communion with choir and music. With palm crosses and Bible readings, we recall Jesus' arrival at Jerusalem.
11.15am Choral Mattins. A traditional service with beautiful choral music for Palm Sunday.
6.30pm Choral Evensong. A service led by the choir that leads us to prayer in the start of this week before Easter.
Wednesday 28 March
8pm Compline. Choir led service traditionally held to end the day.
Maundy Thursday 29 March
8pm Holy Communion. As we remember Jesus' last supper with his friends, we prepare for Easter.
9pm - 10pm Time for silent reflection
Good Friday 30 March
10am - 11.30am Messy Church. Activities including craft, music, stories and prayers for all ages, helping focus on Jesus' death on the cross.
12pm - 2pm Meditations at the Cross. Choral music for Good Friday, with hymns, words and reflections.
2pm-3pm Walking the Way of the Cross. In the third hour of our meditations, you are invited to join us as we follow in the stages that led to Jesus' crucifixion and death on the cross.
6.30pm Choral Evensong. A service led by the choir that invites us to reflect on the events of Good Friday.
Easter Eve Saturday 31 March
8pm Easter Vigil. Kindling a fire and lighting the Easter Candle, this atmospheric service begins with a candlelit vigil, concluding with a celebration of Jesus' resurrection.
Easter Day Sunday 1 April
8am Holy Communion. A quieter said service in the traditional language of the Book of Common Prayer.
9.30am All Age Holy Communion. With activities, Easter eggs and blessing of the Easter Garden, this Easter Day celebration welcomes all.
11.15am Choral Mattins. A traditional service with beautiful choral music for Easter Day.
6.30pm Choral Evensong. A service led by the choir that celebrates Jesus' resurrection on Easter Day.
