The Alban Pilgrimage 2017
Saturday 18th June
St Albans Cathedral is delighted to bring you the Alban Pilgrimage, a celebration of the life of Saint Alban who gave the city its name. This unique event sees giant carnival puppets retrace Alban’s last steps and tell his remarkable and moving story. Roman chariots, centurions, lions, roses and executioners all take their place in the procession from St Peter’s Church, through the city centre, to St Albans Cathedral.

The Pilgrimage Procession begins at 11am, setting off from St Peter's Church and arriving at the West End of the Cathedral in time for Festival Eucharist at 12noon. This year's preacher is The Rt Revd Rachel Treweek, Bishop of Gloucester.
The day concludes with Festival Evensong at 4pm. This year's Preacher is the Very Revd Martyn Percy, Dean of Oxford.
