St Albans to Taizé 2016

Join the Bishop of Hertford and local young people on a pilgrimage to the Taizé community in France.

Saturday 30th July - Monday 8th August.

£175 per person. Open to people aged 15 to 29 at time of travel.

Taizé is a monastic order who welcome young pilgrims from across the globe to spend a week with them, in prayer, worship and Bible study, and experience time dedicated to God. Taizé offers a chance to connect with God away from the clamour of the everyday world.

An invitation from the Bishop of Hertford: 'In August 2016, I’m inviting people aged between 15 and 29 from around the Diocese of St Albans to join me on a journey to Taizé, an international Christian community in France. For many young people, a trip to Taizé is a life changing experience, one that helps them explore and own faith for themselves. In a world of endless communications and busyness, Taizé offers time and space to go deeper into God - to breathe, to listen, to think and to live for a while to the beat of heaven. If you have people aged 15-29 in or around your church, I hope you might invite them to join me and others as we travel there next August.

For more information, please contact Revd Jos Perris (assocpriest@stpeterschurch.uk.com) who will be accompanying people from St Peter's on the trip. You are welcome to come along to a Taizé Taster evening happening in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire during the next few months. There are two more: 24th January at 6pm at St Francis, Welwyn Garden City and 28th February at 6pm at St Andrews in Bedford. Please tell the Jos if you would like to come to either or both of these Taster evenings.  Anyone aged 15 – 29 is welcome.

This will be a fantastic opportunity to engage with a different tradition of worship, meet with young Christians from all over the world and to find space from the everyday world.
