Friends' Winter Fair
Saturday 28th November 11am – 4pm.
Our inaugural Winter Fair is taking place on Saturday 28th November inside the church. Being the day before Advent Sunday the proceedings will have a very Christmassy feel. There will be an early appearance by Santa Claus in his grotto and there will be a seasonal theme to the stalls, games, refreshments and music. Unlike its Summer counterpart, where third party stalls are prominent, the emphasis in November will be on our own initiatives and we are inviting a selected number of local charities to participate free of charge.
Our Fair will be opened at 11am with a rendition of seasonal choral and organ music by St Peter’s Choir arranged by Nick Robinson. The performance will begin at 11am and will last for about an hour, to be followed by a live session from ‘St Peter’s Buskers’ (a wind quartet drawn from younger members of the choir and organised by Jacky Dwyer). Please arrange to come early to show your support and bring friends and family who can then enjoy the range of stalls, games for all ages and of course Santa’s Grotto and Face Painting. You can stock up on homemade cakes and chutneys, try your luck on the bottle Tombola and Human Fruit Machine or take a Belfry tour. There will also be Face Painting, live music and refreshments. The Friends of St Peter's stall will be selling the Friends of St Peter's Christmas cards and teatowels.
This is another opportunity to show St Peters at its best to the public at large and we hope that you can be part of this. Funds raised, as with all Friends events, will be donated to St Peter’s Reordering Project.
