After a summer break, the lunchtime concerts at St Peter's restart on Wednesday 15 September at 1 pm when soprano Melissa and pianist Cynthia O'Donnell are the performers. They are well known locally and internationally from their performances on cruises and a variety of professional musical engagements.
Melissa and Cynthia return to St Peter's with their usual wide variety of styles from dramatic operatic arias to lyrical song from around the world, and from American folk to jazz, from the humour of Flanders & Swann to musical theatre. The composers will include Puccini, Tchaikovsky, Copland, Hoagy Carmichael and Elgar among others.
Concert organiser Tony Edwards said "We are delighted to welcome back this talented duo to start our Autumn series of concerts at St Peter's in aid of Grove House. Their choice of programme is always varied and accessible to everyone. The combination of Melissa's stunning singing and Cynthia's tremendous playing gave us all great enjoyment when they came here last. This a not-to-be missed event in aid of a very good cause"
As usual the concert is free with donations to Grove House.
